The March for Compassion Video Series - Christine Emerson

This is part of the March for Compassion video series highlighting the importance of medical marijuana for Christine Emerson, a pediatric nurse practitioner of Rochester, New York, and her daughter, Julia, a 7 year old child who suffers from refractory epilepsy. Julia’s family is calling for the NY senate to support the Compassionate Care Act – an act that will bring comprehensive medical marijuana to NY State and help thousands of New Yorkers, with serious medical conditions, access the treatment they need to improve their daily lives.

According to the state, only half of the 2000 people who have successfully registered for the med mj program have received medicine. Too few dispensaries, cost, not enough kinds of medicine available are some of the problems. What are others you've encountered?

We are so delighted that Haley is seeing improvements with medical marijuana! We need to keep working to amend the law so that more patients can benefit.

It was great to see Haley and Hilt again and hear about their positive experience with medical marijuana, which so far has proven to be everything Hilt had hoped. But the experience hasn’t been without its frustrations and logistical hurdles.
